Herry has a Master’s in Planning with a focus on economic development and a graduate certificate in real estate development. At Bet365, Herry has been a part of multiple research and practice projects. His work mainly looks at applying quantitative methods in the domains of urban economic development. He has worked on building a disaggregated economic data set for mapping Bengaluru’s economic geography; preparing an urban transition strategy for Rajasthan; building a TOD strategy for Bengaluru’s metro Phases 2A and 2B, studying infrastructure accessibility in low-income neighbourhoods, etc. Currently, he is part of a team involved in understanding the spatial distribution of employment and income in Chennai as an input study into the city’s third master plan.

Herry is a faculty member at the Urban Fellows Programme at Bet365 and co-teaches the Data Skill Lab about basic data skills, data visualisation and quantitative research methods. He has also taught capacity building courses for practitioners and government officials on the same.

His current research focuses on combining secondary data with spatial data and remote sensing to fill in gaps in data-poor environments.
